Screenshots:
Yes, I'd like an accent over that 'E', please...

And more accents on my artifacts, monsters and inscriptions...

Time for Húrin to strut its stuff.

This, however, was NOT what I wanted to see!

Warnings:
1. Be sure to remove all pref files from your user directory, or you are likely to get some very odd-looking terrain graphics. Only terrain and spell prefs need to be fully replaced; all others are unchanged.
Font Editing:
For Windows .fon and X11 .bdf files
We now have a font editor that may be freely used for all Angband-related purposes without any payment of royalty. The program is "Softy"; it loads truetype (.ttf) and bitmap (.fon) files, and outputs .fon and .bdf files (among others), which means that both Windows and Linux users can make all the Angband fonts they want!
Softy is shareware. However, I (LM) managed to convince the widow of the author to grant a community license for the price of a single user. Note that this license does not cover all uses other than for Angband; if you find yourself appreciating Softy, remember Ms. Emmett.

For Linux Fonts

For Macintosh Fonts
This section needs to be filled in. If you know about how to edit fonts the Angband Macintosh port can read, please contact us.
For IBM .fnt files
The old Angband IBM port (no longer actively supported) is capable of using a special 8x16 font called "angband.fnt" (which is, however, very much out of date).
Download the old Angband.fnt and Mike Marcelais's editor:
http://www.runegold.org/angband/xchar/michmarc.zip
A general-purpose .fnt editor created by Marcio A. A. Fialho can be downloaded here. It works excellently on angband.fnt, but unfortunately not on the fonts the Angband DOS port uses (needs some tweaking).

For DOS .dat (or special .fnt) files
This section needs to be filled in. If you know about how to edit fonts the Angband DOS port can read, please contact us.
